Adult Opportunities

Share Your Gifts

Here at UCG we believe that all have something to share with our children. Much of our programming is designed to provide comfortable and meaningful opportunities for adult volunteers to participate. So if you have a special gift, talent, or story, that you would like to share with our children please contact Heidi Stein at steinags@cox.net
or 373-3058.

Preschool Volunteer                                                                                                                                                         Anyone who would like to spend some time with the preschoolers can volunteer to be an additional pair of eyes and ears in the preschool classroom on Sunday mornings from 9:40-10:30.  To participate you can either put your name down on the sign-up sheet outside of Room 4 or you can contact Salina Briseno at salinadoug@hotmail.com to be called when there is an opening.

Church School Teachers                                                                                                                     The rotation model for K-5 Sunday School is designed to allow anybody wo likes to be with children to serve as a teacher for a few weeks. The curricula is designed and ready to be implemented with minimal preparation by the teacher. The only requirement is to be able to serve three consecutive Sundays. We strongly feel that congregants have a lot to offer our children. Why not give it a try?

Guides:                                                                                                                                                         A Guide is an adult who will work with the same group of kids to provide support and continuity as the children rotate through the Church School program. As rotation teachers frequently change, the Guide is the familiar face. As a Guide the kids will get to know you and – just as importantly – you will get to know them. The time commitment is approximately 15 Sundays through out the year. The Guides constant and familiar presence throughout the year nurtures trust and gives the kids someone they can rely on.

Event Coordinators:
We have many annual events (e.g., Christmas Craft Fair, Christmas Pageant, Palm Sunday Parade, East Egg Hunt, Gratitude Service, 4th of July Parade). The volunteer event coordinators plan and support these celebrations.

Summer Camp Volunteers:
UCG in connection with other churches and scholarship participants share in a two week summer experience (see summer camp information above). Volunteers can work from 1 to 100 hours. Adults also have the opportunity to financially sponsor campers and counselors.
