UCG uses all kinds of instrumental music in many different services. If you play an instrument, there is a place for you.
First, there is the all church band. Everyone who has ever played a musical instrument is invited to come and play with the all church band in December, (a Christmas Medley) and on July 4 weekend (Stars and Stripes Forever). Practice is just before the service, and it always works. Mark Burlingame directs the all church bands.
Second, is the Hogtown Pickers. This is for bluegrass singers and pickers directed by Andy Bachmann that plays regularly at worship.
Third, is instrumental ensembles, brass, woodwinds, etc., coordinated by Mark Burlingame for worship on a a regular basis.
Fourth, while we have Tane` DeKrey, our choir director and pianist who plays three out of four Sundays a month, we are always looking for people willing to play piano at worship. Kathy Funke coordinates music for Sunday morning worship.
If you play an instrument, there is a place for you at UCG. Call the church office and let us know of your talent and interest.
